With an adoration for songwriting, Nardos Almaz began her musical journey from her childhood bedroom in Kitchener-Waterloo. She uses her clever guitar melodies and honest lyrics to navigate the many facets of her intersectional identity. Now based in Toronto, Almaz released her debut EP “Close Contact” in October 2025 following her through the sobering reality of young adulthood as a queer, Black, woman. Through her electric performances and poignant songwriting, she’s steadily carving out a space for herself in the Canadian indie music scene.
