ARTIST BIO

Toronto-based indie rock veterans The Sarandons are no longer carving through life’s wreckage with a butter knife. Their new record, Long Way Home, with its calm purview of new beginnings, gracefully instructs on how to rebound from life’s quicksand. Clear-eyed wisdom is gained from hardships of a bygone era, as Suchon parses an obligatory rorschach test, glinting from disenchantment to self-acceptance. The band is humming with the last year seeing charting on multiple US and Canadian college radio stations, regular play on SiriusXM, and performances at festivals like Ottawa Bluesfest and Hillside. The Sarandons have shared the stage with The Decemberists, City and Colour, JJ Wilde, Kiwi Jr., Kasador, Union Duke, Altered by Mom, Ten Minute Detour and Gavin McLeod. Recorded in Toronto at Taurus Recording, Long Way Home reunites The Sarandons with JUNO award-winning producer Devon Lougheed for the first time since 2021’s Outrunning EP and mixing engineer Will Crann (Jade Eagleson, Blue Rodeo, Ellevator, Cam Kahin) returns to provide a through-line from 2024’s Drawing Dead. Though, Long Way Home adds a new touch, with Peter Landi on drums, and his creative presence coalesces with fellow bandmates, Dave Suchon (vocals, guitar), Craig Keeney (lead guitar), Damian Coleman (bass, vocals) and Ed Cummings (keyboards, vocals).
